Start with the operating context.
Older parking areas and busy commercial sites often have limited equipment zones. Evaluate the relationship between charger body, wheel stops, curbs, doors, pedestrian paths, cable swing and the vehicle's charge-port location.
Good commercial charging decisions connect vehicle use, site conditions and the operator's intended service. The selected equipment can then be reviewed against the final technical, commercial and destination-market requirements.

The installation envelope is larger than the cabinet.
Put the selected model drawing on a scaled parking plan and show every vehicle while connected. Include the widest and longest expected vehicles, charge-port locations, doors, wheel stops, curbs, bollards, cable sweep, user standing area, maintenance access, accessible route, drainage and any separate switchgear or payment host. A narrow cabinet can still create an unusable site if the cable crosses a pedestrian path or the service door opens into a live bay.
The U.S. Access Board's technical assistance illustrates why charger placement, clear ground space, cable length, access aisles, operable-part reach and accessible routes must be considered together. It is a U.S. reference—not a universal approval. Apply the current rules for the destination country and site.
Worked screening example: compact retrofit with expected growth.
Assume a retrofit expects 30 vehicles per day, four simultaneous sessions, limited installation space and growth within 24 months. Tool 02 will screen four-connector 80/120/160/240 kW portfolio configurations against multiple 60–240 kW dual-gun units. Those are family-level options, not guaranteed per-connector output or a final model selection.
The buyer should compare both arrangements on the same drawing and power-allocation matrix. A single multi-connector cabinet may simplify one equipment zone, while multiple units may offer different bay geometry or service-continuity options. The answer depends on verified vehicle acceptance, simultaneous output, site power, cable reach, local accessibility and model-specific clearances.
Build phase two into the pathways, not the first purchase order.
Reserve future conduit, switchgear space, communications, foundations and parking routes during the first design. Then define a written expansion gate using observed phase-one data: session overlap, delivered energy by time window, queue events, unsuccessful starts, uptime and confirmed fleet growth. This can avoid buying unused hardware while reducing the risk of reopening completed civil work.
A phase plan must still confirm that the first installation meets operational demand and that future reserved capacity is technically and contractually available. It is not a promise of savings or future utility capacity.
How this applies to a commercial charging project.
New Xiaochong dual-gun and four-gun DC charger designs are presented with an ultra-slim, space-saving form for constrained footprints and site upgrades. Exact dimensions and installation clearance must be confirmed using the relevant model drawing.
Images and portfolio references are a useful starting point, but final technical data, dimensions, protection rating, certification, payment integration and delivery terms should be confirmed for the selected model and destination market.
Common buyer questions.
Does an ultra-slim body remove the need for site planning?
No. Equipment dimensions are only one part of the layout. Cable reach, vehicle movement, service access, impact protection, accessibility and electrical routes still require project review.
Should every future charger be installed on day one?
Not automatically. Preserve future-ready pathways, then use measured demand and operational evidence to approve later equipment under a written expansion gate.
Can the form factor be matched to existing bays?
Share a scaled parking layout, expected vehicles and inlet locations, photos, bay dimensions and local requirements so the selected model can be reviewed against the complete installation envelope.
