A generator rating is not charger headroom

Record existing building loads and obtain an engineer-reviewed usable capacity figure for charging. If the project includes a generator, solar system or battery, its control, protection, transient response and charger compatibility need separate engineering review. This guide does not approve any generator or battery connection.

Outage scenarios change the usable window

Illustration: 15 vehicles needing 20 kWh each require 300 kWh. Across 10 usable hours the average output is 30 kW; across 5 usable hours it is 60 kW. These are planning scenarios, not a prediction of supply availability. Use the facility’s observed and agreed service window rather than assuming the full overnight period is usable.

Do not confuse input range with power-quality protection

Some Xiaochong configurations can be reviewed for 260–485 V AC input, with other input requirements discussed by project. That is not a statement about every model and does not guarantee operation through outages, surges, earthing faults or an incompatible source. Require the exact datasheet and protection design.

Make maintenance a purchasing requirement

Agree the local response process, spare-parts scope, documentation and remote diagnostic access. For a fault, record the visible message, time, connector and model, then follow the exact manual. Do not force a locked connector, bypass protection or open energized equipment. Select the product and support scope together.

  • Daily energy and realistic usable charging hours.
  • Vehicle connectors, DC voltage compatibility and simultaneous use.

Questions to resolve

Can a wide-input charger replace storage or a generator?

No. A charger needs a suitable energy source; an input range does not provide backup energy.

Does a four-output charger mean four times its cabinet power?

No. Ask for total power and the simultaneous allocation rule.

What is the first step if the connector is stuck?

Stop charging through the normal interface and follow the exact vehicle and charger manual. Never pull forcefully or bypass a lock; contact the operator if normal release fails.
